Gary L Baker, Professor of German presented “Fathers and Rules to Live by in the Works of Uwe Timm and Utz Rachowski” at the 40th Annual German Studies Association conference held on Sept 29-Oct 2, 2016 in San Diego, CA.

The application period has opened for the 2017 Career Enhancement Fellowship for Junior Faculty, which is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.

This pre-tenure award program seeks to increase the presence of minority junior faculty members and other faculty members committed to eradicating racial disparities in core fields in the arts and humanities.

Tiancheng Zheng ’17 and Aixin Li ’18, presented talks on their research on non-standard logics as well as their research on quantum computing and game theory at the Forty-fourth Annual University of Miami Mathematics Conference on September 23, 2016.  Li presented the talk “Indeterminacy and Dual Set Logics.” Zheng presented the talk “Playing the Monty Hall Game on Quantum Circuits.” The talks were given as part of the Pi Mu Epsilon Conference held concurrently with the Miami Mathematics Conference held in Oxford, Ohio.
