OCS is now advising Class of 2020 (current First Year students) about study abroad options. They will go abroad mostly in their junior year, 2018-2019 academic year.
Please encourage your students to come see us in Burton Morgan 417. Students start the process by attending “Study Abroad 101”, a 30 minute student led presentation about why and how one can study abroad.

Study Abroad Update
OCS has just finished working with the bulk of the sophomore class (Class of 2019) The deadline for application for the whole academic year 17-18 was December 1. We will work with latecomers but some programs may be closed to them after the deadline. We will begin working with first years (class of 2020) after spring break.
GLCA Globalization Grant:
GLCA has awarded Denison $16,357 for the Global Crossroads Initiative/Mellon Foundation Grand Challenge grant. The proposal, “Challenging Borders: Refugees, Displacement and Migration”, involves collaboration with Allegheny, Ashesi, Hope, Wooster, Kenyon, and the American University of Beirut. The Denison faculty participating in the grant are: Gary Baker, Joanna Grabski, Catalina Hunt, Veve Lele, Isis Nusair, and Taku Suzuki.
Our 2nd Global Education Week will be September 18 -23. There are events every day starting with a musical kick off event with food trucks on East Quad near the Gilpatrick House on Sunday September 18. Denison affiliated musical groups will play while we snack on Pizza Cottage and Whit’s. The Study Abroad Fair will be Wednesday from 12:30-5:30, please stop by and speak with our providers about their programs and how they serve our students.
