Exploring Mindfulness

We invite you to join Denison Religious Understanding at their weekly dinner/discussion to talk about “The Significance of Place” with special guests Larry Ward and Peggy Rowe.

Larry and Peggy currently live in Bangkok, Thailand. In 1994, Peggy and Larry received Dharma Teacher Transmission from Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

They offer Mindfulness retreats in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. Larry received his Christian ordination in 1972 and is a doctoral candidate in Religious Studies at the University of the West with a Buddhist emphasis, and now works at the American International School of Bangkok.

What is Diwali?

Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, and is one of the only festivals that is celebrated in all parts of India. Mythology states that Prince Ram, the heir to the throne of Ayodhya, and the favorite of his father, King Dashratha, was unfairly exiled from his kingdom by one of the  King’s other queens in an attempt to place her own son, Bharat, on the throne.
