Day 5: It’s been real

Today went smoothly. It was a happy realization this morning that I can take a hot shower tomorrow. I think I’ll continue taking cold showers during the week and hot showers on the weekends. That way, the hot showers will be so much better.

I’ll continue to leave my mini fridge unplugged, there is just no need for it.

Day 4: Chris McCandless

This morning I brought my stolen plate to class so as to avoid the paper plate. I grabbed a mini muffin and after sitting down, came to the realization that there was paper on this muffin. I popped the whole thing in my mouth, paper and all. At first I thought to myself, “man this paper completely ruined this muffin” but then I realized that I just wasn’t a big fan of the muffin itself.

Day 3: “Wet” Dreams and Stolen Plates

I actually had a dream last night, that I was taking a hot shower. Then I woke up and came to the realization that I was about to take another cold Navy shower. It wouldn’t be so bad if I was in the Navy, because I would have no choice in the matter. The hard part isn’t taking a cold 60 second shower, its making the decision to take a cold 60 shower instead of a nice hot 5 minute shower.

Day 2: Navy showers and Unplugging my Roommates Fridge.

Last night I got up at around midnight to go pee and I saw Derek in the bathroom brushing his teeth. This put me in an awkward position because I had heard Derek complain in the past, saying that “Nobody ever flushes their f***ing pee in our bathroom” and I knew that he would notice the absence of that toilet flushing sound.

And So It Begins…

Starting with an upbeat, jazzy piano riff, the 1 minute and 17 second opening theme song to the 80s sitcom “Family Matters” was my shower song this morning. Kicking off my day with a cold 77 second shower sucked. I was also the only person in the bathroom so I turned off the bathroom lights and left them that way.
