Look at that, we survived!
I hope you all have had time to sit and reflect on this project, particularly after class today. There seems to be a never-ending chain of bigger and bigger questions running through my head. I never thought that this project could force me to start thinking about things that I didn’t ever think could be connected, for example the idea of community that we talked about today.
Today was the first day this week that I got ready for class with the lights on, due to my roommate getting ready for class as well. After a few consecutive days of quiet, dark mornings to start off my day, the light felt unnatural and a little weird. I had gotten used to waking up slowly, as well as letting my roommates sleep in peace with the lights off.
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
I realized something life changing today. Four hours naps = four hours of zero impact on the earth. Excellent connection, I know. Absolutely life changing. I may or may not just be using this logic to make me feel better for wasting my days away sleeping in my bed…still. No impact. Go me.
Day two guys. Hope you’re all surviving…
As I crawled into bed last night (…this morning) I began prepping myself for day 2 of No Impact Week. With both roommates asleep and the room pitch black, I deemed this my “ho-hum” time, and I sat and reflected on the first day of living with no impact.
I have had just a great Day 1 of No Impact Week. I’ve discovered that my environmental impact will be quite minimal if I continue to sleep through my morning shower and breakfast, like I did today. Oops. I also discovered that instead of doing homework after class in my room with the lights off, I just took naps instead.
