Day 5 was my final day. In the end I was very successful in my no impact. I had some hiccups here and there but nothing I couldn’t correct. I believe the importance of this week was to really reflect on our carelessness towards how we treat our environment. We must be conscious about recycling and informing others to do the same and live as no impact as possible.
Day 4 and I feel as if I am finally becoming one with the environment. Avoiding Slayter has become a place I avoid due to the amount of trash comes with the consumption of food. Eating at Curtis has been the way to go for me. Still have not used my fan or lights. The cold wind which kicked in later in the day helped a lot in cooling my room down.
Despite my stuffy congested nose I managed to tackle the day without the use of a tissue. However I don’t own a handkerchief so how was this done? I used a mini towel. The towel, which will soon be accompanying my dirty laundry seemed to do the trick while I was in my dorm room. Unfortunately I had dozens of tissues in my room because of prior to no impact so I had to resist the urge.
I have mastered my timing in the shower coming in at a hot 1 minute 30 seconds, ate at Curtis for all my meals, and did not use either my lights or fans the whole day. It was hot but there was windchill so it was easy to manage the heat just by keeping my window cracked at all times.
First day of No Impact I got my cup of coffee and yogurt for breakfast from the Curtis fast food. Abruptly, I realized I was holding two items that I would have to dispose after consumed! I decided I would use the coffee cup as my reusable coffee cup; as well as the yogurt container would have to be used as my food holder.
