Well, no impact week is over and I’m glad to say that I have survived! In honesty, it really wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. I was surprised by how easily I picked up habits that I thought would be really annoying. The easiest goal for me to maintain was my energy goal.
I’d say that the accumulation of goals throughout the week has been good because I would have been overwhelmed with everything at once, and it definitely gets harder as more are added on! I find myself forgetting about other categories’ goals as more get added. For example, I cleaned my fish bowl today and used SO much water doing it and didn’t even realize what was going on until halfway through.
So far, I would say that the energy goal has been the easiest to achieve. I thought that I would have a hard time remembering to unplug things and turn off my computer, but I feel like I’m already in the habit of doing it. One of my goals is to not use my hair dryer at all this week in order to reduce my electricity use, and that has been the most tempting.
My water consumption is gigantic, primarily because I take long showers like the majority of our class. Last week I found that I usually take 20 minute showers, and the water is running the entire time. I have long hair so it does take a while to rinse out all of the conditioner and shampoo, but I definitely do not need 20 minutes!
