So today I continued my short showers, but it was freezing in my room when I woke up so I couldn’t get myself to keep it cold. Other than that slip, today was decently easy because it was mostly just getting from class to class, then sleeping. I also stuck to mostly veggies at lunch and dinner.
I thought this No Impact thing would get easier as time went on…
Today I had no classes so I tried to spend a lot of time in the library, since this is probably the most stressful two weeks of the semester. I tried working in places that had natural light, but since the sun goes down so early now, that didn’t last too long.
Today was a bit of a struggle.
It started out fine, with an even shorter shower than yesterday. I got it down to 4.5 minutes without hot water and turning off the water while I shampoo. Avoiding hot water actually really helps the length of my shower. I mean, who really wants to stand in cold water, am I right?
Today had a few more green improvements than yesterday. First, I had a cold shower that was under 5 minutes AND military style which I’m so proud of! Even though I love my hot showers in the morning, I probably needed the cold to wake me up.
I have been trying really hard to save energy.
When I woke up and realized that I basically need to keep track of everything I eat, throw away, and plug in, it started out as a breeze. I started with a shorter and cooler shower than usual, though I’m still working towards my 5 minute goal. I got ready with no lights on and turned off the water when I brushed my teeth, but there was a slight problem… I was still at my house.
