So today I tried to be quicker with my shower, even though I was feeling especially tired this morning for some reason. I took a cold shower in just over 4 minutes, which I was happy with as I was running somewhat late. This time could definitely be shorter though, it’s just hard to move quickly when one is tired.
For me it seems, the deeper into NI we get, the harder it becomes to keep this lifestyle. Personally I think this is a great project for our class just to see what having little to no impact is indeed like. I am beginning to see how much I indulge in such things as my laptop and other electronics along with processed foods.
So I have to admit, I have slipped somewhat since my last post.
Last night after writing my blog about how I missed meat and found it hard to fill up on “greener” foods, I caved and ordered Dragon Village in Granville. My justification for this was that this could be a meal for two days, with leftovers and all, and chicken is more bio-efficient than other animals like cow.
Day two so far has been a little bit of the same as day one for me. I am trying to shower every other day this week so I guess today I would consider to be my off day. I also did not drink any coffee, since I only had this class today. Because I abandoned these two “morning rituals” (as I like to call them) I have definitely felt more tired throughout the day, but thats a very small sacrifice for this project.
Even though it is only day one, the beginning of day one seems to be going well for me. I had a few things in mind to reduce my impact that I thought of in class before break, as well as during break. The holidays seem to be a time where a lot of trash and other waste is created (from food, drinks, napkins, paper towels, treys and packaging from Thanksgiving food, ect.)
