The day was going well – no accidental napkin usage, only chicken at lunch, power strip off – when I went back to my room for a nap before lab. I turned on the lights so I wouldn’t trip over the shoes which are perpetually strewn across my floor. After moving the shoes, I collapsed onto my bed and began to doze off WITH THE LIGHTS ON.
I woke up sick to my stomach this morning — I definitely did not plan to go through no impact week ill. I made a run to CVS to pick up a few meds, all of which came in far more packaging than they ought to. I did walk instead of drive despite the upset stomach.
I am satisfied with the sustainable routine I have started. Today I made a goal to clean out the locker room and recycle all recyclable items. I found a good amount of paper cups and far too many pieces of paper that seem untouched. I had to do some digging in the trash but I felt good about what I was doing.
Today was not easy, I had to rush around a lot which forced me to use my friend’s car to get down to my class on south quad. For breakfast I had huffman and ate no meat. However, I had a game at 8 pm, so I had to eat off campus before and after it.
What do you know? Today I remembered that I have given up all meat besides chicken for the week, and resisted the pork in Huff. The past 2 days have found me halfway through my burger or slab of meat before guiltily realizing that I’m not supposed to eat it. I was also very good today about finishing nearly everything on my plate, thus eliminating food waste.
Today has been a strong 4/10 both on my no impact eff0rts and just the quality of my day.
First of all, I was already stressed out as I woke up because I knew I had so much stuff to do today. Not off to a good start. I knew I was gonna have to drive to and from Newark to do a project.
Day 3 has been successful. I kept my shower to under 3 minutes and avoided having the lights on in my room. I avoided eating meat today without even realizing it and only used one napkin.
I like to believe that I have a pretty high sense of self-control, so meeting my goals has not been that difficult.
Today has gone pretty well. I tried out the navy 30 second shower method, where you put everything on like shampoo and body wash before you go and shower. I did not get 30 seconds, but I did get my shower done in 53 seconds. I am pretty happy with it, but the cold water was not very nice.
Today was good, the one major snag I hit was that I forgot to take a three minute shower, but I only take five minute showers normally so it was fine. I also did use one napkin today when my history professor gave out lemon squares. I felt kind of guilty for throwing it away. So far I have not had to recharge my phone, its on 85% which is really impressive for me.
Today has gone okay. I have been using my mini compost a lot, my roommate saved her orange peels and put them in as well which was good. I haven’t eaten any meat either, which isn’t as hard as I thought. Looking at my food choices, I don’t think that meat has really been a big part of my diet at all since I’ve gotten here.
