Elections: More of a Mess than We Thought??

Please join Dr. Matt Kretchmar, Associate Professor in the Dept. of Math and Computer Science as he presents “Elections: More of a Mess than We Thought” on Wednesday, October 10th at 3:30 p.m. in Olin 114.

If the constant barrage of inane attack ads isn’t enough to turn your stomach during election season, there are also sound mathematical reasons we should be worried about elections.

In this department FaST Talk, we’ll briefly overview history of voting theory and look at some of the different voting systems and their respective problems.

This talk is open to everyone; no particular background or political party affiliation is required.
