Were you unhappy when Google ended Jamboard? We now have a built in alternative in Canvas through Lucid. If you would like to create a whiteboard in Canvas, all versions of the “rich content editor” (for example when you create an assignment or a page) include a Lucid tool, as shown below: To create your whiteboard, create a new assignment or page in the module where you want it. Then:
With the square icon on the left (see below), students can add a sticky note with text. Unless you set the board to anonymous (under “board settings” from the three lines next to the board title), the note will show the student name. The three dots in the upper right of the board will allow you and your students to set a timer, to start a voting session (on which note, comment, or other object they like best, for example), to go into private mode (their sticky notes are not visible to each other so that they don’t influence one another), or to make comments on each other’s posts:
