Teaching – What to do with Midterm Feedback

Last week, we shared several midterm course feedback forms. Now, what to do with all that feedback?

  1. Make a brief list of comments to respond to during the next class.
  2. Focus on major themes.
  3. Discuss things you are willing to adjust, but also explain why you will maintain certain practices. Your students value transparency.
  4. At the end of the semester, revisit midterm feedback with end-of-course evaluations. Make a few notes of useful suggestions that you will want to remember the next time you teach.
