Missed our recent Teaching Matters discussion on “Cultivating Trust, Honesty, and Disclosure in the Age of Gen AI”? We had a great turn out of folks who came together to share their ideas and experiences. Here are just some of the highlights:
- Looking to adapt your writing assignments for the AI era? Regina Martin suggested thinking through the component parts of our writing assignments as we reframe our learning goals and assessment strategies.
- Hoping to better understand student AI use? Paul Djupe shared insights from his recent student survey about when and for which activities students turn to AI tools.
- Concerned about maintaining essential learning outcomes? Anna Adams and Morayo Akinkugbe, from Denison’s Multilingual Office, emphasized the importance of helping international students understand why developing certain skills themselves, rather than relying on AI, is crucial for their future success.
- Wanting additional resources? Check out these articles, UC San Diego’s excellent guide for reinforcing academic integrity in the age of AI, as well as a video recording of the recent GLCA workshop with Dr. Tricia Bertram Gallant.
