As a PPA and Global Commerce double-major, Seri Su was already studying relations between China and Taiwan here at Denison. “Taiwan has a special place in my heart,” says Seri, whose father was born in Taiwan. She’d never visited before and hadn’t studied Chinese formally, but she always knew she wanted to study abroad.
The Center for Global programs is excited to introduce three new student consultants joining the Multilingual Learning Office (MLO). These students bring a range of academic interests, cultural perspectives, and personal experiences that make them thoughtful, approachable, and highly supportive resources for our campus community!

For Haimanot Assefa ‘26, studying abroad in Kenya during her junior year at Denison became an opportunity to connect her academic interests with meaningful action.
A Global Health major from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Haimanot knew she wanted to study abroad in East Africa due to her Ethiopian background.
For Denison University alumna Katherine (Kat) Palms’14, a 10-day experience in India during her senior year became much more than an opportunity to travel and study abroad. It introduced her to new perspectives on health and well-being, deepened her appreciation for community and culture, while ultimately planting seeds that continue to influence her personal and professional life today.
