As a PPA and Global Commerce double-major, Seri Su was already studying relations between China and Taiwan here at Denison. “Taiwan has a special place in my heart,” says Seri, whose father was born in Taiwan. She’d never visited before and hadn’t studied Chinese formally, but she always knew she wanted to study abroad.

On the upper-left corner of the pale yellow wall in room 422 of Burton D. Morgan Center, tiny colorful dots scatter across the surface: light blue, deep red, burnt orange, and more. Looking closer, those dots together form the shape of a world map.
“So that every time I look up, I remember what I’m doing this for,” Apricity said.

Denison junior conducts hands-on marine research in Australia
While many Denison students were braving Ohio’s winter chill, junior Natalie Fieberg was knee-deep in seagrass on North Stradbroke Island, collecting ecological data and learning about the Indigenous culture of the region.

For Aida Yoder, studying abroad wasn’t just about traveling. It was about immersing herself in ecosystems, cultures, and conservation work across the globe. Majoring in Sustainability and Environmental Studies with a minor in Anthropology and a concentration in Conservation Science and Interpretation, she was able to study abroad during her junior year spring semester and summer.
